LIMBO

deadline: November 10, 2024
no fee to apply

Warimono invites visual artists to submit their works for our upcoming exhibition, Limbo. This exhibition explores the tension between stasis and movement, balancing on the edge of being neither here nor there. The exhibition will run on our website from December 1, 2024 to January 10, 2025.

We seek artworks that delve into themes of suspension, balance, and the in-between. Limbo invites artists to reflect on moments where things remain in a state of flux—where they hover, neither fully grounded nor set adrift. Whether it’s the delicate act of maintaining equilibrium, the sensation of being caught between decisions, or the quiet tension of holding steady amidst uncertainty, this theme offers a space for varied interpretations.

We encourage artists to explore how the concepts of limbo, balance, and suspension manifest in their practice, capturing the nuanced beauty and subtle tension found in these suspended states. From delicate balances to unresolved tensions, Limbo aims to showcase the creative possibilities that arise when we embrace the space between.

It's up to the individual submitting to decide if and how the title aligns with their ongoing practice. We welcome diverse perspectives and encourage artists from all backgrounds and stages of their careers to participate.

As part of your application, we kindly ask that you follow us on our social media platforms. This will help you stay informed about our latest news, updates, and future open calls:
